Annie Kalahurka is an actor, singer, comedian, puppeteer, craftsperson, and teaching artist. Born and raised in Kansas City, MO, she earned her BFA in musical theatre at the College of Santa Fe, and launched as a puppeteer in Cincinnati, OH. As a touring performer and production assistant for Ohio’s Madcap Puppets, she learned to construct puppets and contributed to the great arsenal of characters therein. Favorite past works include sharing the screen with Rooney Mara in Carol, serving as “Puppetry Captain” in Avenue Q at the Human Race Theater in Dayton, and performing at Santa Fe’s Immersive art experience, Meow Wolf. Annie has also worked as a teaching artist for the Cincinnati Opera, the Super Saturday Program for gifted and talented kids, and Theatreworks Summer Camps. Annie was nominated for a Cincinnati Acclaim Best Actress Award in 2012 for her role in the one woman show, “The Twelve Dates of Christmas” which ran for 3 consecutive years. Her current work includes freelancing as an actor and voice-over artist in Kansas City and Cincinnati markets, teaching and assisting productions at Mesner Puppet Theater, developing her 1st original solo show, “Help me help me” and co-creating "The Big Cookie" Podcast."
